The series weaves together the lives of two characters: Marie-Laure Leblanc, a blind French girl seeking refuge with her uncle during WWII, and Werner Pfennig, a brilliant German teenager with expertise in radio repair.
Despite their differences, they find hope and faith in humanity through a shared secret connection.
The series is directed by Shawn Levy and stars Louis Hofmann, Lars Eidinger, Marion Bailey, Hugh Laurie, and Mark Ruffalo, and introduces newcomer Aria Mia Loberti.
