Netflix has revealed the debut trailer for its new Japanese live-action original series, Burn the House Down, which is scheduled to have a global release on July 13.
Burn the House Down is a gripping domestic revenge thriller featuring Mei Nagano (known for My Love Story!, Hanbun, Aoi) in the lead role of Anzu Murata. Anzu’s childhood was shattered when her family’s house was engulfed in flames, leading to her parent’s separation. Convinced that her ailing mother was unjustly blamed for the fire, Anzu takes on an undercover position as a housekeeper for the suspicious woman who married her father in the aftermath of the incident. Driven by the belief that she can gather evidence and uncover the truth about the fire, Anzu embarks on a mission to unveil what really happened.
The series is an adaptation of the popular manga titled Burn the House Down (Mitarai-ke Enjō Suru), which had a successful run in Japan from 2017 to 2021. The English version of the manga began its publication through Kodansha USA Publishing in June 2022.
