Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, known for its ties to extraterrestrial themes, has collaborated with Boardwalk Pictures and Vice Studios on a documentary series about alien encounters. Netflix will launch the four-part docuseries, titled “Encounters,” on September 27th. Created by Yon Motskin, who brought us “Max’s Generation Hustle,” the series delves into four true stories of otherworldly phenomena: strange lights over a Texan town, submersible space crafts in a Welsh village, a Zimbabwean schoolchildren’s alien experience, and non-human intelligence at a Japanese nuclear power plant. Presented through the accounts of eyewitnesses, guided by scientists and military personnel, the series emphasizes the human impact of these encounters on lives, families, and communities. With recent military whistleblowers and news coverage adding urgency to the topic, “Encounters” brings alien phenomena to the forefront. The series is executive produced by Motskin, Amblin Television’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, Boardwalk Pictures’ Andrew Fried, Jordan Wynn, and Dane Lillegard, and Vice Studios’ Andrew Freston, Danny Gabai, Derek Mead, and Jason Koebler, with Patrick Altema as Co-EP for Boardwalk.
