The crime thriller “Heist 88,” starring Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance, has unveiled its premiere dates for both linear and streaming release. Drawing inspiration from a prominent U.S. bank robbery, the movie is slated to launch exclusively on Paramount+ and Showtime on September 29. Later, it will have its linear debut on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET/PT on October 1.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Bassett Vance Productions, and Gunpowder & Sky, “Heist 88” is set in an era predating widespread computerization and modern cybersecurity. The plot revolves around Jeremy Horne (Vance), a criminal mastermind known for his persuasive prowess. Opting for one final job before incarceration, Horne recruits a group of young bank employees to execute a bold and audacious attack on the U.S. banking system, aiming to pilfer nearly $80 million.
The film reunites Courtney B. Vance with “The People vs OJ Simpson” co-star Keesha Sharp and “61st Street” colleague Bentley Green. Other cast members include Keith David, Xavier Clyde, Nican Robinson, and Precious Way.
Directed by Menhaj Huda and penned by Dwayne Johnson-Cochran, the production boasts executive producers such as Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, Lynnette Ramirez, Van Toffler, Barry Barclay, Amal Baggar, Mychael Chinn, and Donny Hugo Herran. Carlos Lugo assumes the role of executive in charge of production.
