Netflix announced the upcoming documentary “Sly,” directed by Thom Zimny, known for “Springsteen on Broadway.” The film, set to premiere in November, delves into the extensive career of Sylvester Stallone, the acclaimed actor-writer-director-producer. From his iconic characters in “Rocky” and “Rambo” to his recent reality series “The Family Stallone” on Paramount+, the documentary provides an intimate exploration of Stallone’s journey. Reflecting his inspirational underdog story, it celebrates the indelible characters he has brought to life.
Produced by Sean Stuart, with Maren Domzalski and Adrienne Gerard as co-producers, “Sly” is executive produced by Stallone himself, along with Bill Zanker, Sam Delcanto, Braden Aftergood, Jon Beyer, Tom Forman, and Jenny Daly.
Stallone, who has been vocal about his role as a producer in the “Rocky” franchise, hinted that his current series, “Tulsa King,” may mark one of his final acting roles. While working on projects like the TV show “Tenderloin” and an Edgar Allen Poe biopic titled “Poe,” Stallone expressed doubts about his future in acting.
