Netflix announced that their upcoming Japanese comedy series, Ariyoshi Assists, will premiere on the streaming service on Tuesday, March 14. The ten-part series features the popular Japanese TV host Hiroiki Ariyoshi.
Ariyoshi Assists stars ten guest hosts, including artists and professional athletes, who will each host their own episode with the assistance of Hiroiki Ariyoshi. Every episode has a distinct theme and format designed to emphasize the unique talents of the hosts. Also, it features veteran and up-and-coming comedians who compete to win the various segments suggested by the hosts while simultaneously attempting to crack jokes about the ridiculous setups that Ariyoshi randomly presents to them.
The guest hosts include GENERATIONS, IKKO, Summers, Tenshin Nasukawa, Maaya Uchida, AHN MIKA, Ken Horiuchi, Fuwachan, Ryoff Karma, and Rino Sashihara with =Love.
The comedians are Eiji Kotouge, Toshiaki Kasuga, Tetsuya Morita, Takushi Tanaka, Soichi Nakaoka, Eiko Kano, Kayoko Okubo, Hironobu Komiya and Shuji Aida, Masanori Hasegawa, and Takashi Watanabe, and Koji Yamamoto and Futoshi Seki.
The creators of Nippon TV’s Ariyoshi no Kabe and Ariyoshi Zemi, Kazuaki Hashimoto and Toshiyuki Yokozawa, are the series’ producers.
