Apple TV+ has released a trailer for “City on Fire,” an upcoming mystery thriller series consisting of eight episodes, which has been written and executive produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
The show is based on Garth Risk Hallberg‘s novel of the same name and features an ensemble cast including Wyatt Oleff, Chase Sui Wonders, Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, Xavier Clyde, Max Milner, Alexandra Doke, Omid Abtahi, Kathleen Munroe, John Cameron Mitchell, Geoff Pierson, and Beth Malone.
The story revolves around the investigation of the shooting of an NYU student, Samantha, in Central Park on the Fourth of July in 2003. Samantha is found to be the link between a series of mysterious fires across the city, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family with many secrets.
The show will debut on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on May 12, 2023, and one new episode every week thereafter until June 16, 2023. Schwartz and Savage wrote all eight episodes, and Jesse Peretz directs four of them.
The show is produced by Apple Studios, and the cast is led by Chase Sui Wonders and Wyatt Oleff.
