Paramount+ unveiled the official trailer for their upcoming original musical series, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. They first revealed it during Drew’s News segment of The Drew Barrymore Show. It premieres on Thursday, April 6, on Paramount+ in the US and Canada. The next day, the series will debut in South Korea, the UK, Australia, Latin America, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and France.
The 10-episode season will have new episodes released every Thursday for subscribers in the United States and Canada and every Friday for subscribers in the United Kingdom, Australia, Latin America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, and South Korea after the premiere.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies centers on the events in 1954 when four unsatisfied outcasts dare to have fun on their own terms, creating a moral panic that would transform Rydell High for good. It takes place four years before the original “Grease.”
The series stars Marisa Davila, Cheyenne Isabel Wells, Ari Notartomaso, Tricia Fukuhara, Shanel Bailey, Madison Thompson, Johnathan Nieves, Jason Schmidt, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper, and Jackie Hoffman.
Annabel Oakes, who also works as the showrunner and helms a later episode of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, wrote the script and served as executive producer. Alethea Jones directed the pilot episode plus two more episodes and executive produces. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey for Temple Hill, and Adam Fishbach serve as executive producers. Grace Gilroy produces, and executive producing via PICTURESTART are Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey. Music by Justin Tranter, an executive music producer and nominee for a GRAMMY Award, and choreography by Jamal Sims, who also directed.
