Set sail and go on adventures with your favorite pirate crew as the live-action series for One Piece is coming on Netflix. The streaming service gave fans a first look into the much-awaited show. However, they are yet to reveal more updates regarding its premiere date, number of episodes, and other details.
One Piece, created by Eiichiro Oda, is one of the most well-known and beloved manga series ever. There are currently 969 chapters and 95 volumes published of the manga since it debuted on July 22nd, 1997, in a Weekly Shōnen Jump issue.
The events of the series take place on an alternate Earth that is now experiencing a period known as the “Golden Age of Pirates.” Only the strongest have a chance to lay claim to the legendary riches known as “One Piece” left behind by the greatest pirate, Gol D. Roger. Ruthless, cunning pirates dominate the seas. Years after Gol D. Roger’s passing, a young child named Monkey D. Luffy harbors ambitions to form his crew, locate One Piece, and establish himself as the Pirate King.
The series stars Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu Arata, Jacob Romero Gibbs, Taz Skylar, Morgan Davies, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, McKinley Blecher, Jeff Ward, Vincent Regan, Aidan Scott, Peter Gadiot, Jean Henry, Len-Barry Simons, Alexander Maniatis, Steven Ward, Craig Fairbrass, Langley Kirkwood, Celeste Loots, and Chioma Umeala.
Tomorrow Studios will produce the live-action adaptation with Steven Maeda as the showrunner. Diego Gutierrez, Matt Owens, Allison Weintraub, Ian Stokes, Lindsay Gelfand, Laura Jacqmin, Jason Cho, Damani Johnson, and Tom Hyndman make up the writing staff for One Piece.

After eating a devil fruit that grants Luffy the power to make his body like rubber, it gives him enormous strength and agility. When Luffy finally comes of age, he sets sail from Foosha Village in East Blue and sets upon his grand adventure to become the next Pirate King.
