Disney Branded Television announced and gave a pilot order to their new single-camera comedy series, Saturdays. It premieres on March 24. Episodes one through six will be available the next day on Disney+.
The show centers on Paris, the leader of the skate crew, the We-B-Girlz, as she aims to propel her group to the very top and become Goldens. She has sickle cell disease, though, and it will require every ounce of her willpower to disprove the doubters—including her worried family. It stars Danielle Jalade, Daria Johns, Golden Brooks, Omar Gooding, Jermaine Harris, Peyton Basnight, and Tim Johnson Jr.
Writer Norman Vance Jr. and Marsai Martin executive produce Saturdays. Other EPs include Carol Martin and Nicole Dow for Genius Entertainment. Charles Stone III is the director.
