Vegas Rat Rods TV Show Synopsis:
Shot on location at the Welderup garage in the heart of Sin City, Vegas Rat Rods follows Steve Darnell and his eccentric crew of mechanics, fabricators and welders as they create one-of-a-kind vehicles that are bold, bitchin’ and definitely badass.
Vegas Rat Rods combines the grit of a picker series with the adrenaline of a car show. Steve builds masterpieces from the castoffs of humanity -- finding parts and accessories in junkyards, farmers’ fields and swap meets. His work is the very definition of rat rods - a rebellious genre of vehicle that took off in the 90’s, thumbing its nose at big-budget hot rods and proving that kickass car builds don’t need to break the bank.
In every episode, the Welderup team not only has to meet the expectations of some very demanding clients, but has to build the vehicle in less than 10 days! Ah, but there is no challenge that cannot be met by the incomparable Steve Darnell. This season brings us gems like Wagonrod, a ’57 Chevy for a button-down pharmacist who wants to cultivate a bad side. Fire in the Hole is a mean pickup for a client specializing in demolitions who needs his truck to fit the image. And The Silver Slipper is a made-from-scratch Speedster for a client keen to pay tribute to Las Vegas’ casino roots and of course, drag the Strip in style.
