Netflix released the official teaser of The Lying Life of Adults, an adaptation of the latest novel by Elena Ferrante. The series explores Giovanna’s transition from childhood to adolescence and the impact of her intriguing aunt Vittoria in the process. It premieres on Wednesday, January 4.
The six-part series is directed by Neapolitan helmer Edoardo De Angelis (Indivisible) and stars Valeria Golino and Giordana Marengo. Also, the cast includes Alessandro Preziosi (Medici) and Pina Turco (Gomorrah).
De Angelis has co-written the show with Laura Paolucci and Francesco Piccolo — both scribes on “My Brilliant Friend” — as well as Ferrante herself. Domenico Procacci’s Fandango produces this new Ferrante adaptation for Netflix.
