Noah Centineo is stepping into the action-thriller genre with his upcoming espionage series, The Recruit. Netflix won a competitive bidding war to purchase the series on April 2021, which did not have a title yet. However, during the Netflix Tudum 2022 event, they revealed the name and confirmed its release date, which would be December 16, 2022. Additionally, they debuted a photo for a first look.
The 26-year-old actor lead star established his name in his previous roles in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Fosters, Sierra Burgess is a Loser, and other teenage romance drama films. The series also stars Aarti Mann (The Big Bang Theory), Daniel Quincy Annoh (Americanah, Bus Stop), Vondie Curtis Hall (Harriet, For The People), Kristian Bruun (Orphan Black, Ready or Not), Laura Haddock (White Lines, The Capture), Colton Dunn (Superstore, Blockers), Fivel Stewart (Umma, Atypical). Byron Mann, Angel Parker, Linus Roache, and Kaylah Zander complete the cast.
The Recruit follows the story of a young lawyer (Centineo) who gets entangled in a dangerous case involving the CIA. The creator, Alexi Hawley, will also serve as a writer and showrunner. Also, he executive produces along with Centineo, Doug Liman, Gene Klein, David Bartis of Hypnotic, Adam Ciralsky (P3 Media), and Charlie Ebersol. The director is Doug Liman (previous works include Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Edge of Tomorrow). eOne is the studio.

The story revolves around Centineo who plays a fledgling lawyer at the CIA who gets enmeshed in dangerous international power politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her long-term relationship with the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime.
